Newcastle United’s search for a new striker has led them to target two Venezuelan forwards. Rafa Benitez wants to bring Salomon Rondon back to St James’ Park (The Chronicle) but his compatriot is also a target.
As reported by The Express recently, Newcastle manager Benitez will target Kevin Trapp (PSG goalkeeper) and Jan Carlos Hurtado if the Bin Zayed Group complete their takeover.
Hurtado currently plays in South America for Argentinian side Gimnasia y Esgrima. He has played 17 first-team games for Gimnasia (all this season), scoring two goals and providing an assist.
The Venezuela international is highly-rated in South America and Newcastle want to bring him to England. But they are not the only European club in the race for Hurtado.

According to Argentinian media outlet Diagonales, Marseille and several clubs from Germany also want to sign Hurtado this summer.
Hurtado’s future is up in the air ahead of this summer window. Newcastle are eager to sign the 19-year-old but they could face competition for his signature.
The talented teenager might be tempted to team up with international team-mate Rondon if he completes his return to Newcastle.
Rondon scored 12 goals for Newcastle last season and is a target this summer. Hurtado could learn how to adapt to the English game from his fellow countryman if he joins.
