CalcioMercato report that Newcastle have joined Champions League clubs Milan and Juventus in the race to sign Marseille star Boubacar Kamara.
Kamara, 21, is out of contract at the end of the season with Jorge Sampaoli’s side. That is despite being a regular for Marseille over the last few years.
The France Under-21 star has already clocked up a huge 136 appearances for the Ligue 1 giants. His versatility is certainly an impressive trait.
Kamara can play as a centre-back, or as a defensive midfielder. But he is now expected to leave either in January for a small fee, or next summer.
The report from CalcioMercato claims that both Milan and Juventus are interested in signing Kamara – but face competition from Newcastle.
Alfredo Pedulla said in the summer that Marseille could sell him for £15million – but by January, that price tag might have reduced further.

Newcastle eye Kamara: Frenchman surely fits new owners blueprint
Amanda Staveley and the rest of Newcastle’s new board will have surely pinpointed the club’s ageing squad as an area that needs improvement.
There is only a couple of examples of players that are still before their prime, playing in the first team. Joe Willock, Jamal Lewis etc.
Allan Saint-Maximin, Sean Longstaff and Freddie Woodman are other examples. But Newcastle have more players in or past their peak.
They need to build for the future with players that are already shining right now. Kamara is the ideal example – at £15million, he is a bargain in January.
