TeamTalk has claimed Newcastle United are keeping tabs on Leeds United stars Kalvin Phillips and Jack Clarke, after the Whites failed to gain promotion to the Premier League.
Doubts have arisen over the future of a number of Leeds stars since they lost to Derby County in the Championship play-offs. Phillips and Clarke have both been linked with Premier League teams throughout the campaign.
Clarke, 18, broke into the Leeds team during the first half of the season under Marcelo Bielsa. He was arguably the most impressive teenager in a string of young Thorp Arch products to shine in the senior side.
Phillips, meanwhile, was one of Leeds most crucial players in their bid for promotion. The 23-year-old played 46 times for the Whites this season at the base of their midfield, and even at centre-back.

TBR’s view
Newcastle are expected to be in the market for a central midfielder, with Mo Diame set to leave the club at the end of his contract – which expires on June 30.
Ayoze Perez’s future is in doubt, while Jacob Murphy has hardly impressed on loan at West Brom. A winger could also be a target for Newcastle. It means Clarke and Phillips could well be targeted by The Toon.
Both Phillips and Clarke are Leeds born and bred. Convincing the duo to leave the club would be difficult for Newcastle, though the chance to play in the Premier League is sure to prove tantalising.
