The Telegraph have claimed that Newcastle United’s club-record signing Joelinton is expected to recover from a hip injury that forced him off against Norwich City on Saturday, in time to face Tottenham Hotspur.
Joelinton, 23, joined Newcastle in the summer from German Bundesliga side Hoffenheim for a whopping £40million. But the Brazilian has endured a difficult start on Tyneside, and has failed to score in his opening two outings.
The versatile attacker was substituted after 67 minutes during the disappointing 3-1 defeat to Norwich on Saturday at Carrow Road, limping off the field of play with what has been deemed a hip injury.
But the latest report claims that Joelinton is set to recover early from the knock in time to face Mauricio Pochettino’s side. It will be a huge boost for Steve Bruce, who will be desperate to finally get Newcastle’s first points of the season.

TBR’s view – Joelinton needs more service from Newcastle teammates
Over the past two matches, Joelinton has looked sharp and got himself into the right areas. Yes, Joelinton is yet to score but it must be remembered that the striker is still young – and that goals will eventually come.
The Brazilian should have hit the back of the net with a header, but if the likes of Miguel Almiron, Allan Saint-Maximin and Jonjo Shelvey can lay on some chances for Joelinton and the player can get off the mark – his confidence will grow.
