Report: Newcastle have now made their move to sign 'amazing' player
Newcastle United have made contact with Everton about signing their academy graduate forward Anthony Gordon.
Sky Sports report they have a source which has told them that Newcastle have started talks over signing the Toffees 21-year-old.
They say no official bid has been made, but discussions are underway to see if a deal can be done before the end of the transfer window.
Newcastle want a new wideman, and interest in Moussa Diaby persists, but it seems that Gordon is being lined up as a potential alternative.

They suggest that a deal to take Gordon to St James’ Park could cost £35 million.
Everton have already sold Richarlison to Tottenham this summer, which should alleviate any immediate Financial Fair Play concerns.
But it seems that the situation has given Newcastle enough encouragement to try and get a deal done for Everton’s brightest young talent.
Frank Lampard has described Gordon as ‘amazing‘ and the winger was one of the brightest spots of Everton’s season, in which they were in real relegation danger.
Newcastle have also been sniffing around another Everton Englishman in the shape of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, as they look for a new striker.
It seems Everton’s asking price has put them off there but it remains to be seen whether the same will happen in their pursuit of Gordon.
