Newcastle United are reportedly hoping to conclude a deal for Inter Milan star Valentino Lazaro within the next 24 hours, following more talks on Thursday.
According to The Daily Mail, Magpies officials are confident of securing a loan deal for the Austria international, who has made just four appearances under Antonio Conte.

Lazaro was only signed last summer for a fee of £20 million (Goal), but he has been unable to break into the side.
With Ashley Young and, most recently, Victor Moses having signed for the Nerazzurri, it now seems certain Lazaro will depart this January.
Lazaro has supposedly also been tracked by RB Leipzig and Bologna, and Newcastle will be hoping neither of those teams scupper their proposal.
If successful in their pursuit, then Lazaro will become the club’s second signing of the window after Nabil Bentaleb joined on loan from Schalke earlier this week.
TBR’s view – Lazaro would be superb business
Newcastle landing Lazaro would be a great bit of business by the club.

He was excellent during his time at Hertha Berlin and RB Salzburg, and really showed his aptitude for getting forward with 15 goals and 23 assists for the Austrians (121 games) and five goals and 13 assists for the Germans (65 games).
Naturally a right-back, Lazaro is comfortable operating on either flank and could really suit the Newcastle system that deploys wing-backs.
With Jetro Willems out for the season and Inter signing two full-backs, there is seemingly now a very good chance of Lazaro soon joining.
