Newcastle United face competition for Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina as Serie A side Cagliari join the race.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Italian club are now keen on the Saints dynamo. As reported by the Daily Mail, Newcastle are also keen on Lemina. The midfielder could leave Southampton this summer for as little as £4m.

The 19-time Gabon international spent last season with Fulham, where Lemina made 30 appearances in all competitions for the Cottagers. The midfielder’s sole goal for the club came in a 1-0 away to Liverpool.
Lemina could be a solid addition to Newcastle’s squad this summer. But interest from Cagliari could see the Toon miss out on the midfielder.
Indeed, the Gabon star was once compared to Paul Pogba in 2017 as per the Sun.

Whilst Lemina has not developed into the world-beater the Manchester United star currently is, the 27-year-old midfielder would be a welcome signing for Newcastle.
With Steve Bruce working with a tight budget yet again this summer, signing Lemina for as low as £4m could be a smart piece of business for Newcastle.
And given his form for Fulham last season, the midfielder has shown he has the quality to perform week-in-week-out in the Premier League.
