Newcastle United will reportedly make a loan move for Tottenham Hotspur’s Ryan Sessegnon this summer.
According to The Sun, Steve Bruce intends to buy British and in bulk starting with the Spurs youngster, who has been on the periphery at the club since joining a year ago.
In 2019/20 Sessegnon made just 12 appearances for the north Londoners, and it is safe to say the 20-year-old is yet to find his feet.
He supposedly tops the Magpies’ list of targets, with the north east giants apparently only having around £30 million to spend on permanent signings.
It remains to be seen whether Jose Mourinho will give Sessegnon the green light to move away temporarily.
TBR’s View – Newcastle loan move might be good
Sessegnon has been unable to hit the ground running following his £25 million move from Fulham (BBC Sport).
Expectations were high for the youngster, but it can be argued he hasn’t been helped by injuries and also a change of manager.
Although Mourinho has spoken highly of Sessegnon, the Portuguese has refrained from handing him regular minutes.
A switch to Newcastle might be a great move for the England U21 star.
The two clubs only did business last January of course, with Danny Rose moving to St. James’ Park for the second half of the 2019/20 campaign.
The starlet needs to get some momentum going if he is to shine for Spurs, and doing that elsewhere for the moment might be the way to go.
