Report: Newcastle expect Joe Willock decision in next 48 hours
Newcastle United now expect to learn in the next 48 hours whether Joe Willock will join them from Arsenal, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
Willock has been linked with a potential return to Tyneside throughout the summer.
It comes after an outstanding loan spell during the second-half of last season. Of course, Willock ended the campaign with seven goals in his final seven appearances.
Unsurprisingly, Steve Bruce wants him back. And it appears that a decision on whether Newcastle have managed to land Willock is imminent.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, the Magpies are growing increasingly confident about signing Willock on loan once again.
And it is claimed that they expect an answer from the 21-year-old in the next 48 hours.
Newcastle loan move makes sense for Willock unless Arsenal are able to provide assurances
There are likely to be plenty of Arsenal fans who want Willock to stay. He thrived while Mikel Arteta’s men somewhat limped over the line last season.
If he can replicate that sort of form for the Gunners, he could be a huge player next season.
However, without assurances over game-time, Willock would surely be right to seek a loan move.
At Newcastle, he could be a key player once again. The Magpies will give him the perfect platform to send a message to Arteta or earn an impressive move elsewhere.
It seems that it may not be too long until Arsenal and Newcastle fans learn exactly where Willock will be playing next year.
