Report: Newcastle, Everton and Manchester United eye Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard

The Daily Record have claimed that Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard is attracting interest from Newcastle United, Everton and Manchester United, as the Frenchman continues to shine in front of goal for the Scottish champions.

Edouard, 22, netted his 25th goal of the season for Celtic on Sunday afternoon as the Hoops came from behind to beat Kilmarnock 3-1 at Parkhead. He has been crucial in the Hoops run of 19 league wins in their last 20 outings.

The France Under-21 international, who is said to be knocking on the door of a senior call-up, is also just as good in termsof creativity. The former Paris Saint-Germain star has laid on a whopping 17 assists this season, in just 41 outings.

That form is said to have attracted Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United, as well as Everton and Newcastle – the latter duo having not been previously linked before. It is believed Edouard is rated at around the £30million mark, as per the Record.

TBR’s view – Which club needs Edouard the most?

Everton boast Dom Calvert-Lewin, who is bang in form and on the verge of an England call-up. Richarlison is also impressing, while Moise Kean is finding his feet. Everton could do with a striker, but are hardly crying out for one under Carlo Ancelotti.

Manchester United brought in Odion Ighalo in January as emergency back-up to Anthony Martial, with Marcus Rashford injured. But Solskjaer certainly needs a powerful focus point, and Edouard could certainly be that man.

But Newcastle would be the his best move. Certainly, Newcastle are crying out for a striker with Joelinton scoring just one Premier League goal. The Toon would be Edouard’s best move, as he would be without doubt, the club’s first-choice striker.
