Newcastle United have reportedly had a bid accepted for Callum Wilson accepted by Bournemouth.
As reported by The Daily Mail, the Magpies are now in an excellent position to land the four-cap England international, with Aston Villa dropping out of the race.
Wilson’s desire to join Newcastle is the reason for Dean Smith’s side’s withdrawal, who were reported to have bid £21 million for the player.

The Mail say a move could be finalised and announced in the coming days, with a £20 million transfer fee agreed between the clubs.
It is the breakthrough Newcastle fans have been desperately hoping for, with the club losing Dwight Gayle to injury and losing 5-1 to Middlesbrough in a pre-season friendly.
And it appears Matt Ritchie will not be part of a deal for Wilson – a possibility that had been reported earlier this week.
TBR’s View – Major Newcastle boost
Newcastle look to have gotten their man, although there is seemingly still work to do with the personal terms and medical.

What’s vital though is that Wilson – on £60,000-a-week at the Vitality Stadium (Spotrac) – wants Newcastle and not Villa, so there shouldn’t be any issues with the personal terms.
£20 million is seemingly a lot for a relegated player, but Wilson is a proven goalscorer at the highest level so there cannot be too many arguments, especially given the level of interest.
It’s important now for Newcastle to wrap Wilson up quickly and move on to strengthening other areas.
