DeAndre Yedlin is one of the players Newcastle United have deemed to be surplus to requirements ahead of the final weeks of the transfer window, according to a report from The Northern Echo.
Steve Bruce’s men have arguably done some of the best business in the Premier League in the last couple of weeks. The likes of Callum Wilson, Ryan Fraser and Jamal Lewis have all arrived recently.
And it now appears that some of their attention will be spent on trimming the squad.
The Northern Echo reports that a number of players have been earmarked for exits. And Yedlin is reportedly one of those deemed surplus to requirements.
It will probably come as little surprise to Newcastle fans that Yedlin is available. He made just 10 starts in the Premier League last season. And he was missing from the squad that beat West Ham on the opening day.
The Northern Echo reports that Javi Manquillo and Emil Krafth will compete for the right-back spot this season.
TBR View: Best for all concerned if Yedlin leaves
It looks set to be best for all if Yedlin leaves Tyneside this summer. The 27-year-old will not want to sit on the sidelines at this stage of his career.
Meanwhile, Spotrac reports that he earns £30,000-a-week with the Magpies. They may not get a huge transfer fee for him, but saving those wages will provide Bruce with a boost.
