The report suggests that Newcastle manager Eddie Howe is considering the size of his squad going into the season, and would listen to offers for the Spaniard.
The 28-year-old has been at St. James’ Park since 2017 after joining from Atletico Madrid, although he had spent the previous season on-loan at rivals Sunderland.

Manquillo was Steve Bruce’s first choice right-back last season before being sacked, however he struggled to make as much of an impact under Howe.
Occasionally played on the left-hand side as cover for Matt Targett, Howe eventually decided to go with Emil Krafth on the right as new signing Kieran Trippier picked up a metatarsal injury.
Newcastle may sell Manquillo
Newcastle did offer Karl Darlow to Manchester United at the start of the window to try and secure the signing of Dean Henderson, however he eventually moved to Nottingham Forest.
Jamal Lewis was left out of Newcastle’s squad for the second half of last season due to an injury, but Howe still hopes he can re-establish himself in the squad, and he could end up being loaned out.
With the report also suggesting that Howe wants to keep Matt Ritchie at the club, despite his interest in a return to the south coast, Manquillo may end up being the player that gets moved on.

Newcastle still want to add further players to their squad, with Ross Barkley the latest in a long list of players linked with a move to Tyneside.
He’s never set the world alight during his time on Tyneside, and with Trippier now first choice in his position, and handed the captain’s armband for Newcastle’s opening day win, his minutes are likely to be very limited.
Manquillo also missed part of Newcastle pre-season due to a groin problem, and wasn’t included in the Magpies’ squad on opening day at all, so he could now make way for another player to be included at St. James’ Park.
