Newcastle United are keen to sign Harry Winks from Tottenham Hotspur, the Daily Mail suggest.
Newcastle interest
Winks has fallen out of favour at Spurs, but it has been said that he wants to stay with the North London club.
However, Newcastle are now said to be looking at doing a deal for the England international.
Newcastle have already signed Joe Willock this summer, so if they were able to bring in Winks, Steve Bruce could totally transform his midfield pairing.
Can Newcastle afford it?
The problem for Newcastle will surely be with affording Tottenham’s asking price for the midfielder.

Spurs are unlikely to be particularly interested in doing a loan deal, with Nuno’s side wanting to raise funds for their own planned additions.
Winks may benefit from a move away from Tottenham at this stage, though.
He has been overtaken by Oliver Skipp in the pecking order at Spurs, and with Tottenham still on the lookout for a central midfielder this summer, his chances could become even more limited if he isn’t careful.
At Newcastle, though, Winks would surely immediately be instated as a key player.
His ability in possession could allow Bruce’s side to dictate the tempo of games more naturally, and he would likely be seen as a long-term successor to Jonjo Shelvey.
