Newcastle United could reportedly make a move in the summer to sign Dean Henderson, who was offered to the club in January by Manchester United.
According to the Daily Mail, the 24-year-old keeper remains in the thoughts of the Magpies, who was proposed to Newcastle by the Red Devils in exchange for Martin Dubravka in the final days of the winter window.
Whilst the proposal was rejected, Newcastle could attempt in the summer to sign Henderson, who has hardly played this season for United due to the resurgence of David De Gea.
An England international after a stunning season with Sheffield United in 2019/20, Henderson could be a long-term number one for Newcastle should Eddie Howe’s side make an approach for the keeper in the summer.
A talent former United boss Jose Mourinho has previously tipped to be ‘phenomenal’ one day, Henderson could be a smart signing for Newcastle even with the number of quality keepers the Toon have on their books.
Whilst Dubravka has always impressed for Newcastle with Karl Darlow and Freddie Woodman also decent Premier League-level keepers, Henderson would be a significant upgrade in the position given his current qualities and potential.
Henderson could be ideal Newcastle keeper in new era for club

Newcastle have been stacked with decent keepers for a while, yet despite the promise of Woodman and the quality of Dubravka, Henderson offers the Toon a perfect shot-stopper who can marshal the goal for years to come.
Indeed, the 24-year-old England international will likely be open to a move in the summer, especially if Newcastle stay up in the Premier League. And with the Magpies a club on the rise, Henderson will be an ideal fit for this new era of the team.
