Report: Newcastle could make Dusan Vlahovic bid next summer
Newcastle United could make a move for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic next summer should they manage to qualify for the Champions League, according to a report from Italian outlet Calciomercatoweb.
The Magpies have been a revelation in the Premier League so far this season. Eddie Howe’s side were second in the table before Manchester City won on Wednesday night.
Of course, their surge up the table was always likely at some stage. But few would have imagined that they would be amongst the top-four contenders so soon. And there looks to be a real possibility that they could be in the Champions League as soon as next season.

Should they get there, they seemingly have big plans.
In fact, Calciomercatoweb reports that Newcastle could make a bid for Vlahovic if they make the top-four. They could even make a bid worth over £70 million to try and convince Juventus to sell the Serbian.
There is a problem for the Magpies. The report claims that the Juve striker is not convinced about the idea of moving to Tyneside. And he would prefer to wait for offers from the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea.
Of course, much could change if Newcastle do make the top-four. Clearly, they are the team that have the potential to more than disrupt the traditional big six in the Premier League.
And once they are at the summit of the English game, they are going to take some catching. So Vlahovic may well want to be a part of that if they make a big-money move next summer.
The 22-year-old would certainly be a statement signing for Newcastle. He has been prolific over the last couple of years, scoring 30 league goals since the start of last season.
FBRef lists Erling Haaland amongst the strikers similar to Vlahovic. So it would have the potential to be a game-changer if the Magpies manage to bring him to St James’ Park next year.
