Report: Newcastle confident Joe Willock wants to leave Arsenal
Newcastle United are growing increasingly confident that Joe Willock is ready to leave Arsenal permanently, with The Telegraph reporting that the Magpies are ready to make a bid for the youngster.
Bringing Willock in on loan earlier this year has proved to be a masterstroke. The 21-year-old has scored seven goals for Steve Bruce’s men, including six in his last six.
His form has been pivotal in guiding Newcastle to safety. So it is no surprise that the Magpies are ready to try and make a move to keep him permanently.
The Telegraph notes that his asking price had been £20 million. However, it is claimed that negotiations will not be simple and Arsenal could yet increase the price with the club keen on funding a move for Martin Odegaard.
The good news for Newcastle fans keen to see Willock stay is that The Telegraph reports that the club are increasingly confident that he is ready to move to St James’ Park permanently.

Mikel Arteta is facing a tough decision over Willock’s future. His form on Tyneside has shown that Willock is more than good enough to shine at the highest level.
However, his doubters will highlight the fact that he did not manage to make a huge impact when he was given a chance for the Gunners, particularly in the league.
Those supporters may argue that Arsenal should accept a Newcastle offer that meets the asking price.
But there are likely to be many fans worried that a sale could come back to haunt them.
