Newcastle United reportedly think that they have managed to agree personal terms with free agent Ryan Fraser, but they are still waiting to see if a deal is over the line to sign him.
According to the Telegraph, the Magpies are waiting to hear confirmation that the 26-year-old wants to complete a move to St James’ Park despite him telling manager Steve Bruce that he was interested in a move.
The report explains that any hold up on the deal is because Fraser is waiting to see if he receives any more offers to sign elsewhere, with Celtic and Arsenal both mentioned as potential suitors.
It is understood that Newcastle are now likely to set the available player a deadline to sign for them by.
Fraser is currently available after he exited Bournemouth when his contract expired and he’s still waiting to find his next club.
The Scotsman is a winger renowned for his explosive speed and skilful dribbling, which is why on a free transfer he could be a great piece of business for Newcastle if they can get it over the line.

TBR’s View:
Fraser struggled last season for a Bournemouth team that were relegated from the top-flight, as he scored just one goal and supplied four assists in return across all competitions.
But the speed machine showed in the 2018/19 campaign he’s got the quality to shine in the Premier League, as he managed seven goals and 14 assists in that league season.
Bruce’s team is crying out for some more creativity in the final third and Fraser would help with that, but it still wouldn’t solve the problem of the prolific goalscorer that they so desperately need.
