Newcastle United are reportedly one of a number of clubs interested in signing Juventus winger Douglas Costa this summer, and the Brazilian is available for just £21.5million – according to TransferMarketWeb.
Costa, 29, is expected to leave Juventus this summer just two years after joining the Italian champions from Bayern Munich. The 31-time Brazil international has had a hand in 27 goals in 90 games – scoring nine and creating another 18.
Italian outlet TuttoJuve have claimed that Costa is a target for Newcastle’s potential new owners, and could be one of four Juve players on his way to Tyneside – along with Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey. Gonzalo Higuain has also been linked.
Now, Costa could be available on the cheap. TMW claim he is available on the cheap, with Juve willing to accept £21.5million. Tuttosport, meanwhile, claim Atletico Madrid and Manchester United are also interested in the winger.
TBR’s view – Costa would be a huge signing for Newcastle
At such a bargain figure, Costa would be easily afforded by many Premier League sides – but to tempt a player like Costa to your side, their must either be a huge financial incentive or European football.
A big-name player with enormous quality, Costa could be tempted by Newcastle should the owners take over. But for Newcastle, Costa would be a top, top signing that could forefront the potential new owners’ reign.
