According to a report from the Daily Express, Newcastle United and Leicester City are both interested in a bargain January move for Metz striker Habibou Diallo.
Diallo has made an outstanding start to the season. The 24-year-old – who scored 26 goals to inspire his side to promotion last term – has already bagged eight times in 12 appearances in Ligue 1.

Only Wissam Ben Yedder has scored more often so far this season. So it is probably not a huge surprise that Premier League clubs are starting to take note of the Senegal international.
The Daily Express reports that the Foxes and the Magpies are both scouting Diallo ahead of the January window.

The report adds that Metz want just £7 million for Diallo. So it will be interesting to see whether any of their top flight rivals join the race for his signature.

January looks set to be a crucial window for both Newcastle and Leicester – but for very different reasons. Steve Bruce’s men are four points clear of the bottom three after beating West Ham on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Leicester are in the top four. They will go third should they beat Crystal Palace today.
Joining Brendan Rodgers’s men may appear the more attractive proposition right now. But Diallo looks to have a much better chance of securing game-time by moving to St James’ Park. So it may not be an easy decision for the striker if both clubs make a move.
