Everton and Newcastle United have both been offered the chance to sign Oleksandr Zinchenko this summer, with The Athletic reporting that his Manchester City future is up in the air.

Zinchenko played his part as City retained their Premier League crown this past season. Of course, it has been an emotional time for the 25-year-old following Russia’s invasion of his native Ukraine.

But Zinchenko has won a lot of plaudits for the way he has handled himself.

He could leave the Etihad Stadium in the coming months. Reports claimed Arsenal want the 48-cap international. Mikel Arteta worked with him while he was a coach with City.

But there may be other sides in the running for Zinchenko’s signature. The Athletic reports that he has been touted around clubs such as Newcastle and Everton.

The report does note that Everton will not have the biggest budget this summer. Newcastle however, are obviously one side to watch in the Premier League this summer. It is not clear whether either plans to make a move for the player.

Everton and Newcastle offered Zinchenko

Zinchenko could be a brilliant signing for a number of sides this summer. His versatility means that he could fill a number of voids.

He has played the majority of his football for City at left-back. But he can also play in central midfield. And in truth, he can play almost anywhere in the middle of the park.

Pep Guardiola labelled him ‘incredible‘. So it would be a coup for a club such as Newcastle and Everton, who want to improve next season, to secure his signature.

Much may depend on how much City want for Zinchenko. Certainly, the higher the asking price, the better the chances are of Newcastle being able to win the race – should they want him this summer.
