Newcastle have been reportedly blown out of the water in the race for Ousmane Dembele – with another Premier League side making a huge bid.
Dembele, 24, is out of contract at the end of the season. Xavi has reiterated his desire to keep the 2018 World Cup winner, but he could go.
Newcastle look like they are interested. Foot Mercato say Dembele has received an offer of £244,000 a week, a signing on fee of £12.5million.
That offer came from Newcastle, one that was rejected. Any hope Newcastle might go in again has ended, with an unnamed club making a bid.
The report says an unnamed Premier League club have launched a bigger offer – worth £326,000 a week, and an enormous £25million signing-on fee.

Newcastle beaten in Dembele race: Who could be rivalling the Toon?
There are only a couple of clubs that have the financial clout to challenge Newcastle and hand such an astronomical wage to Dembele.
Indeed, Manchester City are likely to be one of those. Raheem Sterling is being linked with an exit, as is Riyad Mahrez – who turns 31 in February.
Manchester United can also offer as much. But they have signed Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho of late – unlikely that they will want a winger.
Chelsea can also offer such wages, Liverpool might want Dembele but the figures a stretch for the Reds. It is likely that City will be the club keen.
