Newcastle United have offered Sven Botman a five-year deal after managing to agree a £35 million fee with Lille for the centre-back, according to a report from Tuttomercatoweb.
It seems increasingly likely that Botman may end up in the Premier League this summer. AC Milan had been in pole position. But reports claimed that they had struggled to agree a fee for the 22-year-old.

Several Premier League sides have registered an interest in the Dutchman. However, reports suggested that Newcastle felt that they were well-placed to sign Botman.
And it now seems that the Magpies have indeed wasted no time to try and capitalise as Milan dawdle.

Tuttomercatoweb is now reporting that Newcastle have agreed a £35 million fee with Lille. They plan to pay £14.5 million up front. Meanwhile, the remaining amount will be paid over four years.
Newcastle have also offered Botman a five-year contract.
Lille are seemingly happy. But Tuttomercatoweb adds that Botman is not yet convinced about moving to St James’ Park.
Newcastle agree £35 million fee with Lille for Botman
Botman must surely appreciate how determined Newcastle are to secure his signature. Obviously, Milan can offer him Champions League football next season. And they are title-contenders having won the Scudetto this past season.
But at some stage, he will surely grow frustrated by the Rossoneri not agreeing a fee. Paulo Maldini called Botman a ‘great player‘. So he should have concerns if Milan will not meet Lille’s demands.
Newcastle have now agreed a fee and offered him a long-term contract.
If there is one positive, Newcastle can come away from talks knowing that they have done all they can. If this offer does not work, they can focus their attention elsewhere from now on.
