As reported by Fabrizio Romano, personal terms have been agreed with the Swiss international and Jose Mourinho’s side. Arsenal signed Xhaka for £35m in 2016 as reported by BBC Sport.

And reports suggest that Arteta is keen to add another player in the position. But this could depend on if Xhaka is sold this window.

With Roma struggling to reach an agreement with Arsenal, the north London side might be forced to lower their asking price for Xhaka if they are to sell the midfielder this summer.

The Gunners are facing a similar situation with Hector Bellerin. Arsenal are no short of suitors, but clubs are not willing to match the £20m asking price the north London side are demanding for the defender.
