Report: Napoli want to sign Celtic defender Christopher Jullien
Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport have claimed that Celtic defender Christopher Jullien is on a list of potential signings compiled by Gennaro Gattuso’s Napoli this summer.
Jullien, 27, joined Celtic just last summer from French side Toulouse – the same team in which Vakoun Bayo has just joined on loan. Since his £7million (Herald) move to Parkhead, he has played 48 times.
In that time, the Frenchman has been excellent for Neil Lennon’s side. During his 46 outings last season, Jullien helped Celtic keep 20 clean sheets and scored seven goals himself – with his 6ft 5in frame proving a threat.
The Italian report claims Napoli are eyeing six players this summer, including the likes of Sevilla left-back Sergio Reguilon, Roma midfielder Jordan Veretout and Lille defender Gabriel – as well as Jullien.

TBR’s view – Jullien is decent, but is he Napoli standard?
In terms of Napoli being a side pushing for the knockout stages of Champions League football, the Italians require players that are the very cream of the crop. Jullien has proved to be excellent in Scotland.
But is he capable of playing for a side like Napoli? Is he capable of filling in alongside Kalidou Koulibaly and look as though he belongs there – or even replace the linked-away Senegalese machine? He has some way to go.
