As the dust slowly begins to settle on the recent sacking of Jose Mourinho, speculation is now intensifying over who will replace him as the next Tottenham manager.
Mourinho, 58, was dismissed on Monday morning by Spurs, who have a Premier League match against Southampton, as well as the Carabao Cup final with Manchester City still to play this week.
According to the Guardian, Belgian national team boss Roberto Martinez is someone that has “admirers” at Spurs.
The report adds that England manager Gareth Southgate could also emerge as a possible target for the north London club after this summer’s European Championships.
Martinez, 47, has been in charge at Belgium since 2016, and helped them to become the number one ranked country.
He previously has experience with Swansea City, Wigan Athletic and Everton at domestic managerial level.
Meanwhile, 50-year-old Englishman Southgate took charge on the senior international stage back in 2016 with the Three Lions.
His only managerial experience at club level was a three-year spell with Middlesbrough. Afterwards, he worked with England’s Under-21s before becoming the senior boss.

TBR’s View:
Southgate and Martinez are both two men currently holding positions on the international stage, and their attentions will be on this summer’s European Championships where both will be dreaming of winning the trophy.
The Guardian’s report only mentions the duo as potential names that could appear on the Spurs shortlist, so at this stage fans shouldn’t be too hasty to make up their minds.
However, what is clear, supporters will be hopeful that Mourinho’s successor plays a more eye-catching brand of football that matches their philosophy.
