Report names 3 Crystal Palace players who may be offered new terms after Lucien Favre's arrival

Crystal Palace look set to appoint Lucien Favre as their new manager, and could then look to sort out player contracts.

The Eagles have been looking for Roy Hodgson’s successor after the veteran left Selhurst Park at the end of the season.

Palace seemingly came close to landing Nuno Espirito Santo but they pulled the plug on discussions.

Now, multiple media outlets claim Favre’s appointment is imminent.

What On Earth Is Going On With The Copa America?

The Athletic has looked at what awaits the former Borussia Dortmund boss at Selhurst Park.

Palace have 11 players out of contract at the end of the month, so the board must address this situation.

And the outlet claims the likes of Andros Townsend, Gary Cahill and Joel Ward may be offered new Palace contracts.

Palace contracts for Eagles veterans?

Winger Townsend, a £14m signing from Newcastle in 2016, has made 185 appearances in red and blue.

Centre-back Cahill, a free signing from Chelsea two years ago, has made 47 appearances for Palace.

And right-back Ward, at Palace since 2012, has clocked up a staggering 283 appearances for the Eagles.

Palace will then embark on a recruitment drive to overhaul the group ahead of the new campaign.

They will now be able to target players best suited to Favre’s favoured style of play, added The Athletic.

Palace striker Christian Benteke has already re-signed, penning a two-year extension at Selhurst Park.
