Report: Mykhailo Mudryk has now picked which club he would most like to sign for – Arsenal or Chelsea

Mykhailo Mudryk still wants to join Arsenal despite recent interest from their London rivals Chelsea.

The Daily Mail report that Chelsea want talks with Shakhtar Donetsk today over a potential deal for the dangerous winger.

He has been a target for Arsenal for a long time and the Gunners have already made a bid to try and sign him in January.

The report says that Chelsea’s interest has not altered Mudryk’s desire to move to the Emirates Stadium, and he has made that affection for the Gunners clear.

Mudryk prefers Arsenal over Chelsea

Arsenal sit top of the Premier League and have made Mudryk a priority to offer cover and competition for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

That indicates their faith in Eddie Nketiah as a backup for Gabriel Jesus during his injury recovery, although another signing this window should not be ruled out.

Another central midfielder would not go amiss either, although the deadline day pressure to try and get Douglas Luiz has eased with Mo Elneny and Thomas Partey back fit.

Chelsea sit tenth as it stands on the back of sacking Thomas Tuchel on the back of the most lavish transfer window spend in Premier League history.

Graham Potter looks like he will also be backed in the transfer market, but they seem more likely to sign World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez as it stands.

Arsenal fans will hope to get Mudryk over the line without much in the way of a transfer saga, but this one could rumble on all month.
