Leeds transfer news: Club 'seriously' keen on signing Azzedine Ounahi in January
Leeds United currently sit 14th in the Premier League, but are very much looking over their shoulder right now.
Jesse Marsch’s side sit just two points above the relegation zone and have failed to win in their last five matches.
Leeds have already brought in two players this month.
Defender Maximilian Wober became the latest player to swap the Red Bull group for Elland Road.
He’s already been described by Marsch as a leader, and has made two appearances off the bench.
The 20-year-old has clearly impressed the club’s hierarchy, and will be expected to hit the ground running.
The Athletic believe they Leeds aren’t done yet, and are ‘seriously’ keen on Angers midfielder Azzedine Ounahi.
The Moroccan international starred at the World Cup, and could now be on his way to the Premier League.
Leeds ‘seriously’ keen on Ounahi
The report states that, ‘multiple sources are telling The Athletic that the Elland Road side are seriously keen — keen to the point of genuinely considering a move for him before the end of this window.’
Fabrizio Romano has agreed with The Athletic’s report, suggesting Leeds are really considering a move for the Moroccan.
Having sold Mateusz Klich to DC United, there is a space in the squad for another midfielder.
Adams was brilliant at the World Cup for the United States, and there’s even talks he could become club captain.
Leeds are keen on Ounahi due to his industriousness, and could be an immediate upgrade on Roca.
Angers have been keen for any deal done this month to include a loan-back clause for the rest of the season.
The likelihood is that Leeds will want him to join up with the first team straight away to help them avoid another relegation scrap.
