Report: Moyes considering move to bring Everton star to West Ham

Lucas Digne is one of the players on David Moyes’s radar as West Ham look to strengthen their options at left-back, according to a report from the Daily Mail.

Digne is facing an uncertain future at Goodison Park. The 28-year-old has not featured for Everton since the Merseyside derby at the start of December.

Rafa Benitez has since brought in Vitaliy Mykolenko. And it appears that the Toffees are open to the prospect of the Frenchman moving on during the January transfer window.

Previous reports suggested that Digne is available on loan. Everton would want a commitment however, that a deal would be converted into a permanent move in the summer.

Whether any side makes such a bid remains to be seen. But he is definitely attracting attention. The likes of Newcastle, Chelsea and Leicester have previously been linked.

The Daily Mail is now claiming that West Ham are also keen on the former Barcelona man. Moyes is keen to avoid panic-buying this month. But he does want a new left-back, centre-back and striker before the deadline passes.

Lucas Digne could be an inspired signing for West Ham despite Everton troubles

Digne would probably not come cheap. Reports have suggested he could cost £25 million. He earns £119,000-a-week on Merseyside, according to Spotrac. But he has previously been one of the most exciting full-backs in the Premier League.

He has 20 assists in 127 games for Everton. He also wore the armband on a few occasions earlier this season. Marco Silva previously described him as a fantastic example. So he would potentially add further leadership to the squad at the London Stadium.

Everton may be wary of letting him join a Premier League rival. But if West Ham can bring him in, he could potentially be an outstanding addition.
