As per the report, Isak ‘dazzled the world’ last week in Sweden’s Euro 2020 opener against Spain. The Athletic reported earlier in the month that Arsenal are interested in the Real Sociedad star.

Although Isak didn’t score or assist on the night, the striker was a danger for La Roja whenever on the ball and awarded the space to attack. As per the Athletic, the Swedish forward has a release clause of £60m.

Competition for Isak adds problems for Arsenal

It is perhaps not a surprise to see two big European clubs register an interest in Isak following his performance for Sweden last week.

The youngster had little time on the ball, but every touch, move and jink caused Spain problems at the back. Indeed, it would not be a surprise to see more teams claim an interest in Isak as the tournament progresses.

But for Arsenal, Barcelona and Roma’s interest in Isak could cause some problems for the Gunners.

As per the report, Mikel Arteta’s side have the Swede ‘on their agenda’ for this summer. The north London side are yet to make a signing in the transfer window.

Arsenal need to assert dominance

The 21-year-old striker will no doubt be one of the hottest names in football if he continues to perform at Euro 2020.

And for Arsenal, they need to ensure they are ahead of the curve and should signal their intent to beat other clubs to the signing for the striker.

With Alexandre Lacazette seemingly likely to leave north London this summer and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang approaching the final 24 months of his contract, the Gunners needs to start planning for the future. And Isak is the perfect option to lead the line for the upcoming years for the club.
