Report: More teams join the loan race for Rangers talent Jake Hastie

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard looks set to loan the youngster out of Ibrox this summer.

Several teams are now interested in a move to sign Rangers winger Jake Hastie on loan next season. Steven Gerrard only brought the 21-year-old to Ibrox from Motherwell last summer in a compensation deal worth around (Daily Record) £350,000.

Rangers fans got to see him in action at the start of last season in Europa League qualifying clashes but with Gerrard having several options out wide he was soon sent away from Ibrox.

Rangers sent him out on loan for first-team action, joining Rotherham United for the season, but that deal was cut short in the winter after the youngster lost his first-team place.

Now, it appears that Rangers could again be ready to send Hastie out on loan, this time remaining in Scotland.

The Scottish Sun reports that Hastie is on the radar of his former club Motherwell. But they are not alone. The Glasgow Evening Times is suggesting that Hearts want to bring him in.

Robbie Neilson is keen on signing the player, following up on the signing of Craig Gordon from Rangers’ main rivals.

Rangers are still well-stocked in the wide positions and Hastie’s disappointing end to his time in the English game will undoubtedly have Gerrard thinking another loan is needed for the exciting wide-man.

Now it seems just a matter of where Hastie might end up this summer.
