Nikola Milenkovic is reportedly reluctant to sign a contract extension at Fiorentina in a potential boost for West Ham United.

Calciomercato have claimed the Italian outfit want their Serbia international to commit his long-term future to the club, but the player isn’t keen to do so.

Supposedly, Milenkovic has his eye on a departure, with a top Italian or foreign team his dream.

Calciomercato say that will force Fiorentina to drop their asking price for the player, whose current deal expires in the summer of 2022.

The development comes after West Ham reportedly tabled a £20 million bid for the 23-year-old during the international transfer window (Daily Mail).

The Hammers were unsuccessful with their approach and ultimately landed Craig Dawson on loan from Watford.

Despite the capture of Dawson, there is still a great need for a new centre-half and Milenkovic would be a tremendous signing for David Moyes.

The 6ft 5in colossus would bring an air of authority to the Irons’ backline, and so the club need to revisit the situation in January if the asking price is to be lowered because the player wants out.
