Despite their summer outlay already it seems Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal may still have one more target in this summer window.

That’s according to the Independent who say that Arsenal are still looking to bring in a number six.

The report does confirm that Arsenal will need to make a significant sale before sanctioning such a move, though.

And that could be by the way of Folarin Balogun.

The striker is now heavily linked with West Ham and Monaco who appear to be the front-runners.

The report adds that Arsenal also face the issue of not many midfielders of their desired profile being available at this moment.

In the past Arsenal have been credited with strong interest in Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz.

Whether that interest remains and Arteta can finally bring his key target to Arsenal remains to be seen.

But given the fees Arsenal have already departed with in the window, fans will be buoyed by further ambition.

Of course Arsenal’s next sale may not just come from Folarin Balogun.

The side are also thought to be pushing on with the departures of Albert Sambi Lokonga, Nuno Tavares and Nicolas Pepe.

The three weren’t involved in Arsenal’s media day yesterday and it does seem they are getting closer to an exit.

Arteta and Edu clearly had huge plans for this summer window at Arsenal and did set themselves lofty targets.

Arsenal have made considerable progress in both their incomings and players leaving the Emirates.

And if the club can secure their last desired profile then it really will be an excellent window for the club.

Arteta will be aware that it’s never easy to replicate a title-charge season on season, especially when you so disappointingly miss out.

But he’s addressing the issues he sees at Arsenal and is strengthening key areas.

Arteta and Arsenal have had their best window in years, but they may still have one more target.
