Report may hand Arsenal and Liverpool Bissouma boost
Arsenal and Liverpool may have received a boost in their pursuit of Yves Bissouma, with Foot Mercato reporting that Brighton have identified a possible replacement.
The two Premier League sides are amongst a host of clubs tracking Bissouma.
The Daily Star recently named Arsenal as one of several sides keen on the £30 million-rated star.
The Gunners are mentioned in Foot Mercato’s report, as are Liverpool.
And it appears that the Seagulls are making plans in case they become resigned to losing the Mali international in this window.
According to Foot Mercato, Brighton are very interested in Jean-Ricner Bellegarde. It is claimed that he is one of their main targets should Bissouma go.
Arsenal and Liverpool may be encouraged amid Bissouma interest
Transfermarkt shows that Bissouma is out of contract in two years time. So Brighton are not in the strongest position to keep the youngster this summer.
His value is unlikely to increase from here unless he signs a new deal at the Amex Stadium.
So reports that Brighton have identified a potential replacement should encourage Arsenal and Liverpool.
It does appear that they are aware that the time may be right to sell.
It is now imperative that his admirers act quickly. The Daily Star listed five different Premier League sides who want Bissouma.
That report did not even mention Liverpool, so there are at least six sides chasing his signature.
His performances throughout the campaign have been a real positive for Graham Potter’s side.
And given that he does not turn 25 until August, it appears that he could improve further.
Arsenal certainly need to strengthen their options in the middle of the park this summer.
Thomas Partey impressed at times. But Mikel Arteta struggled to settle on a regular pairing in midfield.
Liverpool meanwhile, may want to bolster their options with Gini Wijnaldum moving on.
For £30 million, Bissouma looks an outstanding prospect. And Brighton seem to have cleared one major hurdle by finding a possible replacement.
