Report: Matias Vecino is now available but Everton have reportedly cooled their interest

Inter Milan are now reportedly interested in selling Uruguayan midfielder Matias Vecino, which might have once been of interest to Everton.

Throughout January, Everton were being linked with a potential move for the Uruguayan midfield dynamo.

As reported by CalcioMercato, Carlo Ancelotti was a big fan of the Inter star. TuttoMercatoWeb later suggested Everton had made a £12 million offer for the player but Corriere dello Sport later suggested Vecino had an £18 million price-tag.

But Vecino went nowhere, and found his way back into the Inter starting XI after January, before lockdown halted Serie A.

Despite this fact, CalcioMercato is now reporting that Vecino is up for sale this summer as Inter decide to stick with Roberto Gagliardini instead. They are reportedly looking for a fee in the region of €22-€25 (£19.8m-£22.5m) million for the midfielder.

But, the report also states that Everton’s interest in signing Vecino has waned compared to January.

Everton are seemingly set to go for younger transfer targets this summer, with the 28-year-old Vecino likely to have little resale value.

So whilst it appears that Everton could have a chance of signing Vecino this summer, it would seem that the Toffees have moved on when it comes to transfer targets.
