Report: Mark Warburton eyes reunion with ex-Rangers goalkeeper Liam Kelly at QPR amid Celtic interest

Mark Warburton and Liam Kelly worked together at Rangers.

Celtic face heavy competition in the race to sign Livingston goalkeeper Liam Kelly. Queens Park Rangers are the latest club to take an interest in Kelly, according to The Daily Record.

As per another report by The Daily Record, Celtic are listed alongside Hamburg, Ipswich Town, Barnsley, Wigan Athletic and Reading in this pursuit.

All of these clubs have reportedly been watching Kelly closely. He is impressing at Livingston and he has recently earned his first senior Scotland call-up.

But Livingston face a real battle trying to keep the 23-year-old at the club. A clause in his contract means he could depart for as little as £50,000 with just one year left on his current deal.

Among the interested clubs is QPR. Mark Warburton has recently taken over at Loftus Road and wants a new goalkeeper to compete with Joe Lumley and Matt Ingram.

Kelly fits the bill and Warburton knows him well. The pair worked together at Rangers before their respective departures. Kelly never made his Rangers debut but he has since made his name at Livington.

With 56 appearances for Livi under his belt (while on loan last season and since his permanent move from Ibrox), Kelly has established himself as one of Scotland’s most promising youngsters.

QPR want Kelly for their campaign in the English Championship. But could Celtic lure him back to Glasgow instead?
