Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa is eyeing a double raid on La Liga for two Spanish midfielders, according to reports in Spain.
El Gol Digital claims that Ander Iturraspe and Ruben Pardo are both on Leeds’ radar.
Leeds have been linked with Iturraspe for a while now given his links with Bielsa and the fact that his contract is set to run out this summer.
Back in March, a report by El Gol Digital reported Leeds’ interest with Iturraspe preparing to leave Athletic Bilbao on a free transfer.
The 30-year-old fits the bill as an experienced defensive midfielder who can add legs to the midfield.
With two Spain caps and over 230 La Liga appearances to his name, Iturraspe has played at the top level and he could be a shrewd free transfer for Leeds.
Pardo currently plays for Real Sociedad and he also operates as a central midfielder. However, the 26-year-old is more of a playmaker compared to Iturraspe’s holding midfield role.
With just 10 La Liga starts to his name this season, Pardo could leave Real Sociedad and Bielsa’s project at Leeds might appeal to him.
Real Sociedad are reportedly prepared to let the former Spain under-21 midfielder leave with his contract expiring in summer 2020.
Leeds could well have two new Spanish midfielders to join Pablo Hernandez in their midfield for next season.
