Leeds United are closing in on agreeing a two-year contract with Marcelo Bielsa, according to a report from Argentinian outlet La Nacion.
The Whites are now guaranteed to be in the Premier League next season. But in truth, it had already appeared for some time that Leeds would keep their seat at English football’s top table.

The result that sealed it was surely their best of the campaign. Two Stuart Dallas goals gave Leeds an incredible win at Manchester City on Saturday. The result was all the more remarkable given that the visitors played the majority of the game with 10 men.
And it appears that the news is only going to get better for Leeds fans.

According to La Nacion, Bielsa’s contract extension at Elland Road is very close. And the report claims that he is about to agree a deal that will tie him down for two years.
It would be a huge statement if Bielsa signed a two-year deal.
Admittedly, he signed a similar deal when appointed (via Guardian). But his future has, from the outside, been uncertain heading into each summer.
So for Bielsa and his team to commit to two years would be fantastic for Leeds. There remains a sense that the Whites have not yet reached their ceiling with him in charge.
Bielsa seemingly also feels that there is plenty to come.
