French website Foot Mercato have claimed that Real Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini wants to raid Southampton and sign 21-year-old striker Dan N’Lundulu – but the La Liga side face competition from English clubs.

N’Lundulu has broken into the senior side under Ralph Hasenhuttl side this season, clocking up six Premier League appearances from the substitutes bench. He has also scored five goals in seven Premier League 2 outings.

A previous England Under-16 star, N’Lundulu is renowned for his strength and power. It is claimed Betis could even look to sign him this month – which would see him join the likes of Nabil Fekir, Claudio Bravo and William Carvalho.

However, Betis are not alone in their pursuit of N’Lundulu. Indeed, the report claims clubs from England are also keeping tabs on the forward – as well as others in Italy and Spain. He has a contract until the summer of 2022.

TBR’s view – Southampton need to tie down N’Lundulu’s contract

The exciting talent – another example of Southampton’s stunning academy system – has entered the last 18 months of his contract and that is a concern. It means the player will already be considering his future.

The Saints will be keen to keep N’Lundulu and it is a no-brainer to get the attacker tied down on a new long-term deal. Especially as a move to the likes of Betis or other English clubs could prove tempting for the youngster.
