Manchester United keen on signing £35m ‘generational talent’ as Ruben Amorim looks for new signings

The Ruben Amorim era has begun at Manchester United and the club could waste no time in backing their new manager in the market.

Amorim is all set for his first game in the dugout this weekend as United take on Ipswich looking to kickstart their season.

Of course, Amorim has only had a few days to work with the players but he will be keen to get the best he can out of the group before looking to January and the summer to improve things further.

And according to reports over in Spain, United are looking at signing one of Europe’s top midfield talents as a new option for Amorim.

Manchester United make contact to sign Eduardo Camavinga

According to a report from Spanish outlet Bernabeu Digital, United are keen on signing Camavinga and have apparently made contact through intermediaries to sign the Frenchman.

Their exclusive report suggests that Camavinga is flattered by interest from Old Trafford and that the interest from United is very much genuine.

However, it must be said that the report also claims that Camavinga has a strong preference to remain in Madrid and work under Carlo Ancelotti.

Madrid only gave him a new contract through to 2029 back in 2023 and after paying just £35m for him, the Spanish giants want to keep him around.

United, then, could well be facing up to having the door slammed shut on this one almost immediately.

Camavinga a ‘generational talent’ who would improve Man United

There are certain players in world football who fit in with pretty much every club in the world and Man United would be a better team for signing Eduardo Camavinga.

Lauded as a ‘generational talent‘ when he was first bursting onto the scene, it’s little wonder Madrid moved to sign Camavinga from Rennes.

Since signing for Madrid, Camavinga has proven a useful player both in midfield and as an emergency left-back when needed.

So, while United might be keen, it looks like Madrid want to keep their man and unfortunately for Ruben Amorim and INEOS, they might have to move on quickly here.
