Report: Manchester United place Tottenham star on summer radar, also want to beat Spurs in Kessie race

Manchester United have added Tottenham Hotspur star Tanguy Ndombele to their midfield shortlist – as well as Franck Kessie, according to CM.

Ndombele, 24, has endured an indifferent time at Spurs – bought for a club-record fee from Lyon and initially impressing under Mauricio Pochettino.

But the arrival of Jose Mourinho saw Ndombele fall down the pecking order. The Amazon Prime documentary underlines his frustration.

Despite a brief renaissance last season, he only managed his first Premier League minutes of the season on Sunday. A 3-0 loss to Chelsea.

If Daniel Levy can get his money back, the likelihood is that he will sell Ndombele. Manchester United are keen, but are also considering Kessie.

Ndombele to Manchester United: Tottenham man needs a fresh start

The fans want him to play, but when he does, he just does not produce. Against Chelsea, he was okay, but he lacked the fitness.

Ndombele was hooked on the hour. Clearly, the club does not suit Ndombele but equally, there does not seem to be a willingness to change that.

A great player with enormous attributes, but is let down by work rate, fitness and attitude. A fresh start might just change all that.

Ndombele would surely be tempted by a move to Old Trafford, and Levy would be tempted if the money is right. United could get his best form.

Weirdly, it could be a move that suits all parties. The issue is, would Levy sanction a move to one of his club’s rivals? Harry Kane would say, no.
