According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United have been offered Paris Saint-Germain right back Gregory van der Wiel.
The 27-year-old, who is valued at £7 million, has a close relationship with Old Trafford head coach Louis van Gaal after playing under him for the Netherlands, and has just 12 months remaining on his contract at the Parc des Princes. The Dutchman made 25 league appearances for the Ligue 1 winners this term, while he featured on ten occasions in the Champions League.
Following Dani Alves’ dramatic decision to commit his future to Barcelona, signing a new two year contract with the recently crowned European champions, Van Gaal has been forced to search elsewhere in his search for defensive reinforcements. With Rafael and Antonio Valencia the only recognised right-backs at Old Trafford, Van der Wiel could prove the perfect addition.

He has attracted interest from the Red Devils in the past, with the Metro reporting, in April, that he was preparing to leave Paris. Seen as a dependable option by the Manchester United hierarchy, he is likely to feature very high on the club’s list of summer targets – he would certainly prove an upgrade to Rafael and Valencia.
