Manchester United have entered the race to sign Timo Werner, according to The Mirror.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to sign a new striker to bolster his side’s strikeforce. After drawing a blank in the 1-0 loss against Bournemouth, this has become a priority.
Liverpool have been strongly linked with Red Bull Leipzig striker Werner in the recent past. However, Man United are ready to launch a January move to sign Werner, who has a £27m buy-out clause.
The 23-year-old recently underlined his talent with a hat-trick. On Saturday, he scored three and provided three assists as RB Leipzig embarrassed Mainz in the Bundesliga.

Werner now has 13 goals and six assists in just 15 matches this season. In total, he has scored 74 goals in 129 games for RB Leipzig after netting 14 in over 100 games with Stuttgart.
Liverpool have kept their tabs on the 28-cap Germany international for a while now. But Man United want to tempt him to Old Trafford with the promise of first-team football.
TBR’s view
Liverpool have the advantage of being able to offer Champions League football and a title challenge to Werner. But Man United can offer him regular playing time.
Werner is a top talent and Jurgen Klopp will know all about him. But does he want to break up his tried-and-tested front three of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino? Werner might get more first-team opportunities at Man United.
