According to Calciomercato, Manchester City have not quite given up hope of signing Inter Milan striker, Romelu Lukaku, this summer.
The Belgian striker has been a revelation over in Milan. He’s hit 27 goals this season and is in line to win the Serie A title after becoming the main man for Antonio Conte’s side.
But Calciomercato claim that Pep Guardiola is ‘convinced’ by Lukaku, and that as yet, City have not yet given up hope of landing the former Everton and Manchester United star. This, despite the report stating Inter have no desire to sell at the moment.

Lukaku would certainly offer a completely different option for City next year. Without a fit Sergio Aguero for much of this term and with the Argentinian leaving this summer, Guardiola has opted for a ‘false 9’ in many games.
Signing Lukaku would give City someone to occupy the space as a number nine. He’d also bring presence and power up top, something the Citizens do lack at times in certain games.
TRB View: Lukaku an amazing player but surely going nowhere?
Despite all City’s riches and the bids they’ll be able to make, Lukaku is surely going nowhere? Inter have said as much anyway.
He would be brilliant, mind. The sheer thought of him in this City team is frightening and they’d be almost unstoppable with the big Belgian as an option up top.
But, alas, for now at least, Guardiola might have to set his sights elsewhere.
