Report: Manchester City planning sensational double swoop, could cost them up to £215m

Manchester City have been linked with both Harry Kane and Jack Grealish in recent months.

The Spurs talisman and England captain, plus the Aston Villa skipper, both of whom helped the Three Lions to the Euro 2020 final.

Two of the biggest players in world football right now, who could probably command over £100m apiece.

Surely City could only go for one of the other? According to The Athletic, not necessarily.

The outlet claims the Citizens will aim to sign both if Tottenham and Villa agree to let them go.

Also, City would have to sell some established first-teamers, which they reportedly expect to and was always the plan.

The Athletic adds that, in conversations with representatives of current City players over recent weeks, senior figures at the club have talked about a big summer of transfers.

And the City hierarchy knows it won’t be cheap, estimating the total cost for Kane and Grealish to be £175million to £215million.

This outlay would obviously have to be significantly balanced by sales.

If City were able to pull off this double swoop, it would make them a scary proposition.

Already the Citizens are a well-oiled juggernaut, winning the Premier League last season and yet another League Cup.

But with arguably the best striker in world football right now and a dazzling, dynamic attacker bolstering their ranks, they would surely become favourites for the Champions League too.
