Manchester City are reportedly planning to swoop for Erling Braut Haaland this summer before his release clause kicks in, according to The Mirror.
The Borussia Dortmund striker is one of the most highly rated youngsters in world football, with a staggering goal tally at senior level despite being just 20.
Haaland weighed in with 29 goals and seven assists for Red Bull Salzburg from 27 games, while for Dortmund, he has 38 goals and eight assists from just 39 appearances.

According to The Mirror, Haaland will be available for £68million in the summer of 2022 as per a clause in the contract he signed when he joined Dortmund in January last year.
Chelsea are also said to be keen on a move, but City are prepared to blow his suitors out of the water with a £100million bid and £400,000-a-week wages this summer, claims the report.
The Mirror goes on to say that Pep Guardiola wants Haaland – whose father Alf Inge famously played for City – to spearhead his attack once Sergio Aguero’s contract expires in the summer.
TBR View:
Haaland’s move to Dortmund has been nothing short of a spectacular success, prompting fans, neutrals, peers and pundits across the world of football to sing his praises.
“It’s crazy,” Axel Witsel told the Bundesliga website in January last year. “To come on in the first game and score three goals, that hasn’t happened since [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang.
“For his age he’s really strong. He’s tall, he’s big, he has a lot of quality. He can keep the ball. For a big guy he’s quite technical and in front of goal he’s a killer.”
Even at £100million, a player like Haaland, just 20 and notching up Ronaldo and Messi-esque goal tallies in one of Europe’s big leagues, he’ll surely be worth it at the Etihad.
