Pep Guardiola and Manchester City could scupper the plans of Tottenham when it comes to landing Barcelona defender, Nelson Semedo.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Guardiola is keen on bringing the Barcelona full-back to the Etihad.
It is claimed that ‘Pep’ could offer Joao Cancelo as a replacement for the Portuguese international.
Having signed for the Spanish giants from Benfica, Semedo has gone on to impress officials at the Nou Camp and has been a regular first XI player this term.
However, the club needs to sell some players to fund some of its big-money moves this summer. And that has potentially opened the door for Guardiola, who could look to strike a deal.
The City boss is thought to want some back-up for Kyle Walker. Despite only signing Cancelo last summer, it appears Guardiola is already in the market for an upgrade.
Any move for Semedo would reignite a rivalry with Jose Mourinho. Indeed, Tottenham are believed to have been offered Semedo in exchange for Tanguy Ndombele. (Talksport)

It’s sometimes easy to forget the rivalry the pair had over in Spain. They participated in some of the most ferocious El Clasico matches in recent memory.
If Guardiola was to beat Mourinho to a player, you’d expect the ‘Special One’ to have something to say.
For the Premier League, this is great news. We want to see rival managers going at it.
In terms of the player, Semedo is a quality footballer. Both Spurs and City need a right-back and Semedo would be a more than adequate fit at either club.
