Manchester City could do battle with Juventus to try and sign Groningen youngster, Gabriel Gudmundsson, according to a report from Calciomercato.
Gudmundsson, 21, has been a regular for the Dutch side this season, making 19 appearances on his way to surpassing the 100 mark in terms of his career.
And such is his form, that top European clubs are in the mix to sign him. Both City and Juventus are credited with casting admiring glances the way of Gudmundsson, who has a contract until the summer of 2022 at the very least.

The young Swede plays down the left-hand side. That is a position Pep Guardiola seems to be looking to address, with the club also being linked with Nuno Mendes in recent days.
Gudmundsson is predominantly a left-back but can play further forward, making him ideal for City’s system. The 21-year-old clearly has some end product, too, having provided five assists in his 19 appearances this term. (Transfermarkt)
TBR View: City seem determined, Gudmundsson among a host of names linked
If the last few weeks have told us anything, it’s that City manager Guardiola is definitely keen on addressing the left side of his team.
Zinchenko has been reliable, while Cancelo can also slot in if needed. But Benjamin Mendy has been a shadow of his former self and he could well be replaced.
Gudmundsson seems a talented young player. He will, of course, need to develop to make City’s first XI. But in terms of potential and value for money, the Swedish ace could be a fine signing for Guardiola.
