Liverpool reportedly think Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus would be the ideal replacement for Gini Wijnaldum. But they face competition for his signature. Spanish newspaper AS claim that Manchester City, along with Juventus and Bayern Munich, are also interested.
Neuhaus, 24, has been brilliant over the last 12 months. Starring for Gladbach in his fourth season at the club, the six-time Germany international clocked up 45 appearances in all competitions – having a hand in 16 goals. He scored eight and created eight.
Sport1 say that talks between Liverpool and Neuhaus are underway, with the German eyed as the next Wijnaldum. But a new report from AS says that their Premier League title rivals Man City are also keen, as are Juventus and Bayern in the £34.5million-rated ace. AS say he is the ‘next Toni Kroos’.

Which club is best for Neuhaus – Liverpool or Manchester City?
Liverpool clearly need a hard-working midfielder that can score goals but is equally as effective in the engine room. They will do very well to find a better alternative to Neuhaus – who showcased both abilities in the Champions League last season. But is he better-suited to Manchester City?
Well, his transitional play is certainly something Pep Guardiola loves. Taking the ball on the half turn, under pressure. He plays alongside Ilkay Gundogan for Germany. But right now in terms of game time, Neuhaus has got to consider Liverpool first. Not much in it, though.
